COLLAGEN MICRO-NEEDLING

P.I.N Microneedling

Collagen Micro Needling (also known as Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy) is used for of acne treatment and treatment of acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and uneven skin texture.

The treatment involves using super-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the top layer of the skin to stimulate the body’s own natural healing processes. The  release of natural growth factors, new collagen & elastin, results in an overall improvement in the texture and tightness of your skin. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels, which allow topical serums and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.

Why we use the Collagen P.I.N  Device

Collagen P.I.N. is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market.  It has more needles and deeper penetration into the skin than any other devices, with a total of 36 micro needles and ability to penetrate to 3mm rather than the usual 0.5mm.  The Growth Factor Rejuvenating Serum added to the treatment increases the levels of improvement in skin rejuvenation and anti-aging, fine lines and wrinkles.

Micro-needling rollers are the previous generation of needling devices. One of the many drawbacks of dermal rollers is the fixed needle or penetration depth (i.e. 0.5mm) which is not very conducive when treating an area like the face which requires different depths due to the varying thickness of skin tissue. Therefore, having a fixed needle depth or penetration level is a huge drawback when trying to customize  treatment for consistency.

Collagen P.I.N.  has an adjustable needle depth that allows Dr Tara to adjust penetration depth throughout the entire treatment. This will allow her to properly address the specific needs of thinner skin on your lower eyelids, crow’s feet, and forehead. Additionally, where the tissue is thicker in other areas, like the upper lip, cheeks, neck and décolletage, the necessary adjustments can easily be treated with 1 needle tip instead of 5 or 6 needle rollers.

How is the procedure done?

Dr Tara Kidd will apply a thin layer of the topical serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your skin needs. Next, in a single motion, the Collagen P.I.N. will be gently glided across the skin in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

After the treatment

Recovery after this treatment depends on the depth of the micro-needles used and your skin quality. It is normal to experience slight redness and thightness of the skin for a few days after the treatment. To ensure you get the best results of the treatment we recommend you use Epionce Essential Recovery Kit for 72 hr post-treatment.

Micro-needling can be repeated every 6 weeks if desired to maximise collagen and elastin production.
